Re: MMQB: Memorable calls

The "givin' him the business" call has to go down as my all-time favorite ref call. Classic!

Re: Folks need to realize the Pack is not elite anymore

Their defense is just so inconsistent. And they just can't keep everyone healthy.

Re: Patriots Sign Allen Reisner

I'm sure Belicheat knows enough about the Norv Turner offense he doesn't need any insider info but would not surprise me if that's exactly why he did this - to prep for his Week 2 opponent.

Keeping my fingers crossed for him. He's another one of those amazing former Vikings who would undoubtedly be in the Hall by now if they had just managed to win one Super Bowl.

Re: Hello!

Glad to have you on board!

You sure picked a fine year to sign up for the mental anguish we here know as the state of "Being a Minnesota Vikings fan." ;-)

But you know what - all the regulars here share a love for our team. No matter how much we might rip on the owner, the GM, the coaches, or ...

Re: The First Game is Unusual

Part of it too is that teams haven't tipped their hands in the preseason of course. So there's no film yet showing the weaknesses of the new things they're doing. You give it a couple of weeks to collect film and time for opposing coaches to analyze it, and all of a sudden the good teams assert ...

Cancer survivor Udeze makes a new impact during Vikings camp

Hadn't seen this posted yet. What a great guy & it's fantastic to see the difference he's making in people's lives.

http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/219710001.html

“I’m doing great,” said Udeze, the 20th overall draft pick in 2004. “I’m alive.”

He also just passed a critical five-year ...

Re: Tom Powers: Squawk responsibly, Vikings fans

The thing I am clinging to this year is the general sense that this organization is being run by some VERY professional people. I've been a Vikes fan my whole life but I didn' really get into them and watch most games until the Dennis Green era. I can say without a doubt that this HC/GM combo is ...

Re: Vikings defensive priority: take the ball away

Turnovers are great and it's good to try and improve your chances of getting them.

But it seems there is always some luck involved in the turnover battle - and teams that are built to create turnovers (e.g., the Bears) really suffer when they can't produce them.

#### thinks he's too good for us, doesn't want to be a part of us, wants out. Well, enjoy the sidelines, ####.

That's the thing, though - I believe he DOES love the sidelines more than playing the game. Same pay, far less work! Seems like what he hated the most about the Vikings is that they were ...

Re: Question About the 'Grand Re-Opening' of the Vikings Sto

I suspect, like you, that it's more PR hype than anything else. But with Kalil and others there signing autographs it could be a fun event.

BTW - I was at the MoA a few weeks ago and stopped in the Locker Room and I swear they had the Elite jerseys. Those are the ones with the stitched-on numbers ...

It's too early to say that Favre won't have medical issues later in life. He took a real beating many years.

I am reminded that in Favre's last play as an NFL QB, he was sacked and got a concussion on that frozen TCF Bank Stadium turf. I hope I'm wrong but I think he's going to have big problems ...
