Sorry it just seems proof of the Insanity

Theory to me ...keep doing the exact
same thing and expect a different result

The team takes a short CB with a bad
history in college in the first round?

First round players are supposed to be
impact guys day one...not another
Treadwell .. who has what 40 catches
over his Viking career of three seasons..
no one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

He may be an impact guy day one. He definitely won't be Treadwell. For what its worth, Daniel Jeremiah had him as 16th overall best player, Bucky Brooks had him as the #2 CB in the whole draft, Mike Mayock had him as #30 overall player. I get not liking the pick, but its not like this is totally out of left field. If the Vikings had signed a starging OG in free agency, this pick wouldn't have surprised anybody. Its only controversial because of their evident need on the OL.

I'm a huge Miller fan as well. I wouldnt be at all disappointed if they go after him with their next pick.

Not sure what Spielman has done to garner all this trust. Every GM has hit on a couple of late round talents like Diggs and Hunter. Our first round pick record is abysmal for the number of picks we have had since 2012. Rich failed to find a talented YOUNG QB to pair with Peterson for 10 years.

There is nothing wrong with the pick. It's a safe pick. Perharps they love Danny I, who many felt was a steal last year. I don't love Easton at RG. The fact of the matter is both LCB and NCB needed to be addressed. This guy helps.

He probably will on kickoffs, assuming there still are kickoffs. The 19 that are returned this year. Comments suggest he's not going to probably see the field on defense right away. Very on brand.
Don't rule out the possibility that comments may also be based on the fact that they are returning starters and dont want to tip their hand and upset the apple cart. You can't very well say he's going to start, even if you are hoping/planning he will. I think there is an outside chance they will move Waynes some time between tomorrow and the trade deadline. It's not likely, but between this pick and not picking up his 5th year option, everybody is going to know this is his last year. How is that going to effect Waynes performance and confidence? Heck maybe it'll fire him up. There could be some benefits to trading him though, including freeing up enough cap space to lock in your other guys in such a way that you are able to frontload one of the deals a bit, not to mention perhaps adding a second round pick this year.
Is there indication we're not picking up Waynes' 5th year?

They may, but I think they only have a few days left to do it. What they do with that will be telling.

Personally, I think letting him go is part of the calculation with signing Cousins, but we'll see. Maybe he'll be willing to sign a team friendly deal and they make up the difference elsewhere. Or perhaps they have an entirely different plan.

Yep, don't expect the vikings to find their starting 2018 RG in the draft.

Don't worry. There will be a run on defensive tackles momentarily.

Oh yay maybe we panic trade up for Daniels now? Or we roll with Compton. I swear I'm going to go nuts if we take Orlando Brown.
