I'm not sure how its pronounced? It is Michael? is it Micole (like Nicole?), is it My-Cole? I look forward to getting some clarification on that.

Thanks. That was a pretty good (and fair-minded) article, although I have to confess, it disappointed me that in all the talk about reduced explosiveness, the author never mentioned that Patterson was dealing with a hip injury for part of the season (seems like the kind of thing that might reduce an athlete's explosiveness). I don't recall seeing any mention of playcalling or Norv Turner either, despite comparisons between Patterson's production in 2013 and 2014. A change in coordinators and systems seems relevant to me.

I think he's right on target with the route-running stuff. As frustrating as that is, it's not unexpected from a player with Patterson's level of experience and hopefully, it's something he will improve on greatly in his second year the offensive scheme. The talk about confidence was interesting too. I imagine it was a factor but I also wonder if he was thinking too much and not playing instinctively enough. I would think that would manifest in almost the same way as a confidence issue.

I'm pretty excited to see what Patterson can do over the course of this season. I hope he has a great year.

Cordarrelle Patterson might have lost his starting wide receiver job for the Vikings in 2014, but he's in no danger of relinquishing his kick return duties, according to special teams coordinator Mike Priefer.

"In my mind, Cordarrelle Patterson's the best kick returner in this league, so it would be crazy for me to put someone else in that spot," Priefer said after Thursday's organized team activities at Winter Park.

I liked reading this:

In a larger scope, it's about attention to detail, keeping that attention and not relying so much on physical talent, which general manager Rick Spielman said this offseason.

But it's not about a 'return to his rookie form,' which some fans and media think when looking at statistics. It's about honing his craft to be a true NFL receiver for the first time. The Vikings have also said they want to do a better job of meeting Patterson halfway, by better manufacturing his touches after he was phased out of last year's offense.

I think they need to find that happy medium and work upward from there.

I am looking for a really great year from him, not only in the return game but also as a receiver
