If he is, and Im sure he will be, Clowney over a QB? And they put the QB off yet another year.

Yay! Let's not only trade our best defensive player, let's resign the other 30 year old defensive end with ONE sack to his name this year to a sizable contract!!! Makes a whole lot of sense!
A Randy Moss fan for life. A Kevin Williams fan for life.

It'd make a whole bunch of sense if we're picking #3 or #4 and Clowney is there but Bridgewater and Manziel are already gone. I don't trust any of those other "athletic" QB's at #5 or lower and I sure don't want another Ponder at that point.PurpleKoolaid wrote:If he is, and Im sure he will be, Clowney over a QB? And for those of you who think Manziel will last to the 2nd, Ryan Tannehil got hyped to 8th over all and Manziel is about 1000% better of a prospect.

Ahhh please don't say Manziel and Teddy in the same sentence.mondry wrote: It'd make a whole bunch of sense if we're picking #3 or #4 and Clowney is there but Bridgewater and Manziel are already gone. Allen won't be re-signed by the Vikings, so they'd be trading away nothing but the last 9 games of a player who they're paying waaaay too much. A 7th round draft pick would make it worth it.
Re: Jared Allen May Be Traded "for the right price"
There have been interesting trade suggestions all week.
Adrian Peterson
Jared Allen
Christian Ponder
Toby Gerhart
Kevin Williams
I'd trade any one of them for not much and only think twice about Peterson.

AD is with us till the end of his career, nothing we can do about that.Eli wrote:There have been interesting trade suggestions all week.

As to the others, I think we should and could have. I don't think Spielman knows what to do though.

I doubt many teams will come after Allen

Considering there are only a few teams that could absorb his current contract, I would not bet on him being traded anywhere. The only one that make sense is Gerhart. And I doubt it happens.

I totally agree. Blow the damn thing up. Obviously what has been assembled here isn't working so it's time to burn it down and move forward. As Allen said a couple weeks ago, it's time to "embrace the suck". It shouldn't be difficult to find trade partners for Allen and Williams. It might be a good time to move on from Peterson. Blow. It. Up. Fire the entire coaching staff and maybe the GM as well, then start fresh next year. This organization needs to be cleansed.Eli wrote:There have been interesting trade suggestions all week.

Get him the #### outta here. It's not good for either side to hang onto him.
Re: Jared Allen May Be Traded "for the right price"
There's more to the draft than the first round. You realize some people are saying Clowney is like the Andrew Luck of LB's right? As in, the type of guy that comes around maybe once a decade or so. There's not a whole lot of separation between the top tier QB's.PurpleKoolaid wrote:If he is, and Im sure he will be, Clowney over a QB? And they put the QB off yet another year.
Re: Jared Allen May Be Traded "for the right price"
I'm not sure Allen is worth re-signing (think about how much we've been paying him) and would welcome the Vikings looking for a trade. But the more important part of your post is the second part. What is happening with the performance of Mr. Robison this year? He has been one of the biggest reasons why this team has collapsed. We need him to step up, not lie down.HardcoreVikesFan wrote:Yay! You mean DE, but yep... he seems to be the safest pick as of now. Compared to Julius Peppers here: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf ... s/3178989/S197 wrote: There's more to the draft than the first round.
