When you're born, you get a ticket to the freak show. When you're born in America, you get a front row seat.

Oh, balls... this is bad. Things can ALWAYS get worse. But this is really bad.Orion wrote:http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf ... e/3000305/

Re: Harrison Smith may have season ending surgery
I wouldn't mind if they shut him down for the year and let him get healthy. Of course the coaches will ride AD and anyone else to try and save their jobs, making the injury worse for next year.
Re: Harrison Smith may have season ending surgery
If it were later in the season, I have no doubt that Harrison Smith would be having surgery and looking forward to playing next year. But with it being only week six, there are 2½ months of regular season football left. And hey, if the Vikings make the playoffs , they're going to need him.

Tough blow if he's out the rest of the year as he's been my favorite defensive player to watch this year on the team. Hopefully he gets right though & this season is as good as any to shut him down & get him right.

Re: Harrison Smith may have season ending surgery
wow bad news for an already weak secondary unit
Re: Harrison Smith may have season ending surgery
Any team can _always_ get worse. Trust me on this one.

Yes. They still have to face Rodgers twice! He may throw for 600. TWICE!!Orion wrote:http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf ... e/3000305/

Re: Harrison Smith may have season ending surgery
This is just par for the course this year. I hope this isn't so serious that it ruins a potentially great career.

Re: Harrison Smith may have season ending surgery
We were really lucky w/ injuries last year... it almost feels like we were due for this kind of thing. It sure hurts in the secondary, though, where we're already super weak. I'm starting to think we'll have a top 5 pick. I think this is one of the best years to be at the top of the draft; so there's that.

I've told people a million times not to exaggerate!
Re: Harrison Smith may have season ending surgery
They should do whatever is in the kid's long term interest. Short term, we're not making the playoffs anyway, let alone the Super Bowl, so why would we want to risk his future? Foot injuries are nothing to mess with.Orion wrote:http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf ... e/3000305/

Re: Harrison Smith may have season ending surgery
Smith's health and future is more important than salvaging what's left of an abysmal season.
