It depends on where we're picking. Bridgewater looks good, but Louisville really has a weak schedule so it's hard to know.
It's a bit early as there is still a lot of college ball left to play as well.Mothman wrote:I refuse to think about this in September.

I would like to give Johnny Football a shot. Regardless of size, I think he has the "IT" factor.

Brett Farve Jr? He's got to have some kids out there at college age now.dead_poet wrote:Brett Favre

It really depends on where we're picking. Unless we're in the top-3, I don't know if we're going to have a shot with either Bridgewater or Boyd. That said, as it stands TODAY, I'd take a long, hard look at:
Louis Nix
Jadaveon Clowney
Bradley Roby
Khalil Mack
Manziel or another tier-2 QB (Fales, McCarron, Morris, Murray) in round 2.

I'd love to be able to grab Clowney and take QB in the 2nd but don't think that is going to happen. Barring injury I don't Manziel making it out of the top 10-15 picks. I like Boyd but I do think Manziel has the 'it' factor if he can get his attitude under control. I'd say Manziel I guess and figure he should be available where we will be picking, which I'm guessing will be 7th overall.dead_poet wrote:It really depends on where we're picking. Yes, thank you! That's what I've been trying to say. He puts up the numbers in college but that clown show isn't going to work vs NFL defenses. We need a solid pocket passer who has mobility but CAN'T run. Guys that can run get happy feet and take off way too soon and their pocket presence never develops.Purplemania wrote:The more I see Manziel, the less I want the guy. He....literally cannot stay in the pocket for more than 4 seconds, no matter how good the pocket is form. Now I don't know if he's coach this way- to take off in 4-5 seconds if the WR aren't open. I will say this would not work in the NFL. His speed and shake and bake stuff will not work on NFL defenders. I need to see that the guy is a willing pocket passer and he has not shown it. Pocket passers are the only way to succeed in this league and it's shown to be true time and time again with Vick, Tebow, Kaepernick, RG3, etc. Sooo...unless by the end of the year he improves his pocket awareness I don't want him. We already have a QB with happy feet on the team.

I'd also be interested in taking a look at Mannion from oregon state. We'll have to see how high his stock goes though. He looked great in the game I watched all 4 quarters of vs Utah. Even though Oregon State lost their opener, it wasn't cause of the Offense.

Bridgewater or bust!
Manziel as a "project"? How often do those projects work out. They're still working on Tebows mechanics somewhere in the NFL. Ponder needs some seasoning! Booo!
