That’s the part that got me. Kirk said the only think missing from his trophy room was a Super Bowl, with his age, injury and learning a new offence I can safely say the chances of that have extremely dropped. But like you said, they often say one thing and do another and money seems to be more important than winning for him.
Atlanta has a better core team than us. They had better odds than us for the SB prior to the deal. I highly doubt either team will make the SB. I think the Falcons win the division and then get bounced once in. No player will ever say I don't give a crap about the SB. That's not good marketing. But the Panther's who have very little if any chance still fill out the roster for some reason. Money? Kirk got more money and a better shot at the SB. I think the national championship is also missing from Kirk's trophy room. He forgot to mention that one.
I disagree with him having a better shot at the Super Bowl in Alanta. Chemistry has to much to do with it, how much will be be able to throw this off-season and training camp? Jj, Addison and Hockenson is more weapons than he will have on the falcons. Take that away and a familiar offence you’ll probably see similar Kirk stats to the first year we had him. I think the bucs give them a run for the division, I’ll say 4100 yards passing, 26tds 13 ints, 10-7 bounced the first playoff game. I think with us he could have done closer to 4600 yards 33 tds and 9 ints. 11-6 with a playoff win.

Darnold is only 26 years old. Relatively still young, can McCown do anything with him?
Hopefully we can get a good bridge year out of him.

I like it, good ability to catch the ball out of the back field. 5 ypc career average, great signing for the price.

Flores is getting his guys. Ones that he wants for his defense.
Greenard is 26 and produces. Van Ginkel and Cashman are immediately starting and improve the defense.
Darnold and Jones got 1 year deals. JJ will get his extension soon enough, but you can see that the Vikings, imo, are A lot better than last year.

These moves allow the FO to draft BPA, to move around in the draft, and to target specific players. What if Darnold plays well? He has all the tools around him now. Has the physical tools and now an offensive minded HC who was a QB. Plus a new QB Coach that was recently playing.

I expect a QB draft pick though. The defensive additions makes moving up in the draft realistic. The offensive additions makes the move up realistic as well.
Going to be interesting to see if they are finished in FA.

Expect this year's 1st round selection to be the last 1st round selection the vikings will have until 2027 or 2028.

100% agree. Clearing out the books and doing it right! Finally it appears they have some competent leadership. Team Building in Todays NFL starts with a QB, Priority 1!. Period! Coaching is Priority 1B. The Team appears to be willing to spend money on quality coaching. The Team facilities and organization is one of the most appealing to players in the League. With the books being cleared out of big dead weight contracts for ageing, overvalued players they will be in a position to sign younger proven talent in Free agency going forward (at least while the Franchise guy is on a rookie deal). They will have all the pieces around him for him to thrive early in his career.

For the first time in 6-7 seasons I feel some excitement as a fan. Its time to roll the dice! Enough being OK with being an average organization.

That's fair. The Falcons aren't void of skills guys on offense. Kyle Pitts, tight end. Drake London, wide receiver.
Bijan Robinson, running back. The biggest asset is their OL is very good. PFF had them at No 4. I'm a firm believer in winning the LOS battle.

I wish that were true but I don't think so. Not because they won't try, but because they won't have a partner. Bears probably wouldn't trade to the Vikings to begin with. Commanders signed Mariota to a 1 year deal and it seems to me they're planning to groom a QB behind him. NE traded away Mac Jones and is going to need a new QB too. I don't see any of them making the trade.

That's the challenge.

2024 1st
2024 2nd
2025 1st
2025 2nd
2026 1st
2027 1st

Probably take something like that. Or one of those teams liking a qb likely available at 11 and still able to collect a haul to drop down.

The only way is if those teams aren’t big on the QBs in this draft, commanders and New England have way more holes to fill than us so maybe they be interested in stacking draft capital.

JJ in a deal might get it done but I don't think so. Maybe they'll target someone like Penix and spend less to move up a little or hope he drops to them.

There's no way they drop 4 1st rounders.
