2021 Mock Draft Simulators

Post by fiestavike »

My first mock draft of the year. (thedraftnetwork.com) I do these as a fun way to start learning about the players in this years draft. I paid very little attention to college this year so I am behind the 8 ball. I also paid very little attention to the NFL this year! Having said that, take these takes with a grain of salt.

14. Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
78. Jabril Cox, LB, LSU
90. Deonte Brown, IOL, Alabama
119. Patrick Jones II, Edge, Pittsburgh
125. Paris Ford, S, Pittsburgh
134. Trey Sermon, RB, Ohio State
143. Marlon Williams, WR, UCF
157. Chauncey Golston, Edge, Iowa
171. Jack Anderson, IOL, Texas Tech
198. Josh Imatorbhebhe, WR, Illinois
221. Josh Kaindoh, Edge, Florida State
240. Marco Wilson, CB, Florida

this one allows trades. I opted to trade back whenever offered deals that made sense on the draft value chart just to see how it would turn out, and give myself a chance to start familiarizing myself with more players. This "Spielman Special" would be like an open try out. Lot of competition! Would've liked to add more LB competition.

39. Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
48. Creed Humphrey, IOL, Oklahoma
64. Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
90. Patrick Jones, Edge, Pittsburgh
116. Trey Sermon, RB, Ohio State (spell Cook with a big physical guy well suited to zone scheme)
119. Ben Cleveland, OG, Georgia
125. Chauncey Golston, Edge, Iowa (raw material Patterson would look go get a hold of)
134. Shakur Brown, CB, Michigan State
157. Whop Philyor, WR, Indiana
171. Marvin Wilson, DT, Florida State
176. Joshua Bledsoe, S, New England
178. Josh Imatorbhebhe, WR, Illinois
191. Jack Anderson, OG, Texas Tech
195. Quinton Morris, TE, Bowling Green
198. Nick Eubanks, TE, Michigan
211. Derrick Barnes, LB, Purdue
221. Simi Fehoko, WR, Stanford
224. Ta'Quan Graham, DT, Texas
225. Jamar Johnson, S, Indiana
240. Darren Hall, CB, San Diego State

I like this one because it gives grades:

I'm not sure exactly how it decides the grade though.

It also allows you to set up the relative importance of positions versus need and adds a randomness factor as well.

I'll run a mock later and post the results.

Don't forget Ronnie Perkins...

I keep dreaming that somehow, someway, Perkins falls to the Vikings at #78. I don't see how he makes it past the middle of the 2nd round, but I can always dream, right?

This is usually my favorite time of the football year but this year I am feeling curiously uninterested, as I have become with most things NFL related. trying to get myself ginned up for a draft party tonight. Lot's of trade backs, which I think is generally a wise move if you can do it while having multiple players with a similar grade between the pick you start with and the pick you are trading back to.
