Frazier took his players to see "Red 2" on Monday night.
"I don't want to endorse the movie, but it was a good movie," said Frazier, who picked the film. "It held their attention, which you're always worried about when you do things off site."
I played tackle football from junior high to high school. From one year to the next, freshman to sophomore (jv) our team somehow went from a winning team to losing. It was odd since we had the same overall team. After loss 5 or 6, our coaching staff had us meet in a large office meeting room in the football clubhouse, we were in full pads mind you sitting in folding chairs. Instead of watching game film they decided to have us watch Rocky II, which was a '78 movie. This was '81 at the time. We got the hint and purpose, of trying to get us to "believe in ourselves." We all believed in ourselves after we saw Rocky getting down with Adrian in front of their apartment door. They hadn't struck it rich at the time so there was no huge, ornate bed! No, it was a door, a knob and the floor. Adrian didn't stand a chance!
Addendum: We didn't refer to it as movie night, but movie practice!
