Pittsburgh?

Run into some old friends from another group or board? Want to do a little schmoozing, talk over old times? Or just some off topic stuff, then this is the place.

Pittsburgh?

Post by Ohjay »

Currently trying to plan my trips to the Vikings games this year and am considering going to the game against Pittsburgh.
But I have a few questions that maybe some of you can help with... :)

I don't recall hearing any horror stories about Steelers fans, but does anyone have any first hand experience going to a game there (in an away jersey)?

Would you consider it possible to spend 5-6 days in Pittsburgh without getting bored?
I'm not a huge fan of museums so it's mostly visiting interesting places, bars/restaurants, intriguing scenery, etc...

Any recommendations of things to do there?
Currently no plans to have a car available, but it is an option if needed.

My sister's ex grew up in Pittsburgh and she went out there a few times and had some fun. Their baseball stadium looks awesome so you could take in a game there is they have one. There is a city a few hours outside of Pittsburgh that is on fire underneath the ground (I think it is called Centralia) and I think you can visit it.

The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." ‪#‎SKOL2018

Thanks!

I have never been to any baseball games so if there's a game I'll make sure to go(or maybe a Twins game in Mpls).

Didn't know that Centralia was in that neck of the woods. That is an intriguing place for sure although dangerous.
That town is the inspiration for the Silent Hill games(and movie), a place I really like to visit so thanks for the heads up! :beerock:
