Seems like a good value pick. Didn’t know a ton about the kid but looks like he fell a little due to injury last year. Just watched some tape on him. He’s a brute of a LB and is excellent in coverage. Sure tackler too. Seems like good valuePatriots received pick No. 162 and pick No. 239 as compensation. From playing against eighth-graders as a fourth-grader to earning Freshman All-American and honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors in his first season with the Trojans, Smith's notoriety began at an early age. He mustered only 10 games in 2018, but still landed on the second-team all-conference list after leading USC with 81 tackles and four pass deflections. Smith flashed extremely athletic traits in Indy, too, measuring in the 90th-percentile in hand size and vertical jump while clocking a 4.69 40-time at the combine. He'll fight to finish as a depth body out of camp with the Vikes.

Asked my USC buddies what they thought of him and if he belongs in the NFL. They said yes, he is a tackling machine, and fell due to PED stuff.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Well, assuming he didn't play as well as he did because of the PED stuff, he's definitely a hitter. When he gets locked on, the player he hits goes down. End of story.
Not sure how he's going to hold up as a pro, but seems like a guy who could find a niche and become an effective player in it.
