His coverage grade was in the 80s according to PFF. He actually had quite a few INTs too. 4 in his career

If Rick insists on this shotgun approach, at least he grabbed OL early as he's clearly struggled with finding guys in the late rounds. He's done better at other positions, especially defense.
I get the strategy, you build through the draft and every pick gives you a better hit rate. But I think there is a happy medium and Rick does go a bit overboard. And why is it he never uses any of these picks on QB?

Really good value on the Boyd pick. Very physical and started a lot of games. Read he has tight hips though and may project better as a safety.

Re: NFL Draft 2019 Discussion
anyone hear why this DT from Miami is dropping so far?
Re: NFL Draft 2019 Discussion
I'm thinking maybe a "big nickel" guy ala Jayron Kearse. I saw a few highlights, he's physical but doesn't play the ball much. He's also friends with Holton Hill and had similar concerns.Maelstrom88 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:07 pm Really good value on the Boyd pick. Very physical and started a lot of games. Re: NFL Draft 2019 Discussion
I'd like to see some competition or even having Sloter take over the #2 spot and developing someone else. Looks like they grabbed a UDFA but I'd be nice to see a 5th or so used on a QB once in a while. Maybe this wasn't the best year because of Mannion but maybe we wouldn't need a Mannion if Rick actually tried to draft a depth QB for once.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:18 pmWell I would say we have our developmental QB in SloterS197 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 3:35 pm If Rick insists on this shotgun approach, at least he grabbed OL early as he's clearly struggled with finding guys in the late rounds. Re: NFL Draft 2019 Discussion
?? Whats the difference of having Sloter as a developmental guy or drafting a 7th round pick? Not sure how that is "BS"Bigwehrm wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:56 pmHahahaha GTFO here with that BS!Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:18 pm

We might have to use Sloter as the backup. Sloter is better than any guy we could get late is this draftPondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:03 pm?? Whats the difference of having Sloter as a developmental guy or drafting a 7th round pick? Not sure how that is "BS"
