The Vikings’ German receiver Moritz Bohringer has talked about viewing YouTube videos of Adrian Peterson to become interested in football. Well, Peterson has players he watches.
One is Marshall Faulk. The Vikings’ running back, in his quest to become a more versatile player, said he has been studying the hall of famer on film.
“He’s a back that anyone can watch and learn from, so I definitely turn to him,’’ Peterson said. “He was a complete back, and he did it for such a long time. So I just watch him doing his runs and the way he ran his routes and his body position when he went into pass protection. So it’s things like that you can learn from a hall of fame back.’’
“There’s no doubt he has it in him, and he’s working at it,’’ Faulk said of Peterson becoming more versatile. “But I’m not going to lie to you. I don’t think it’s as much him as much as their patience (on the Vikings). Because you have a Matt Asiata and a Jerick McKinnon, guys that can play on third down and can give him a rest.
“The need for him to be an every-down back is really not there, and it might save him. But not having him on the football field is like a sigh of relief for the defense. It’s a Catch-22 for him and the Vikings on what you do, but it’s a great problem to have

Peterson can't catch like Faulk and so what if he could? He'll fumble at the most inopportune time. Maybe I'm being drastic, but nah...It's more than a trend at this point and a grave concern of mine for years....As I had said before, Minnesota is best off making AP a 2nd half/even 4th quarter specialist....Keep him fresh for a playoff run..McKinnon is the real deal and knows how to run from the shotgun (helps Teddy)...AP is the GOAT, but i'm just about sick of him...
