Rick Spielman announces the #Vikings have extended Mike Zimmer's contract.
Matt Vensel @mattvensel
Rick Spielman would not share contract terms, but "there's no doubt Mike Zimmer is going to be our football coach for a long time."

Zimmer led the Vikings to a 24-9 ATS record (73%). Best by a margin. 14 of 17 last yr. Held opp to fewer pts than expected in 73% of games.

Uh-oh, Here come the "he hasn't proven anything yet" crowd...
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

I just hope they made the right decision. It's hard to say much more than that with so little info available about the deal.

Not a fan of Zimmer? Or just weary of a pre mature extension?

I'm guessing it's the latter. We once had a coach get an extension after a 12-4 season too...
My gut feeling: A good thing. I have more confidence in Zimmer than I ever did in Chlidress, but I certainly understand those who are a little more "gun shy" about giving a coach an extension after one good season at the helm.

A bit of the latter but I really just meant the comment to be taken literally, at face value: I hope they made the right decision.
