Hard to see a guy with that speed going undrafted ? No combine invite either ?
should be interesting
On Friday, it was reported that the Vikings signed former Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver Terrell Sinkfield, who ran a 4.19-second 40-yard dash in 2013.
Via TSN's Gary Lawless:
Sinkfield, a Northern Iowa product, recorded that insane 40 time at Minnesota's pro day. As an undrafted rookie, he failed to catch on with the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and New York Giants. He did not even make a practice squad.
In 2014, Sinkfield turned to the CFL. In two seasons with the Toronto Argonauts and Tiger-Cats, he recorded 86 catches for 1,240 yards and seven touchdowns, as well as 29 rushes for 138 yards. He also handled kick returns (23.0 yards per attempt) and punt returns (13.0).
Sinkfield, 25, is a long shot to replicate those numbers in the NFL and become the deep threat Minnesota needs, but his speed will make him a name to watch in training camp now Sunday.
I remember this kid and paid particular attention to him. I am a Cedar Falls native.
When his time was reported 4.19, it was all over the football world.
Maybe this is an alternative to a much more expensive Cordarrelle ? All he does is return kicks, for whatever reason!!!! I know there's another thread about that. Maybe Norv and Zimmer want CP out?
Realistically though, need TC bodies and why not take a chance on a speedster ?

Exactly. Depth signing that probably won't make the 53. Remember Emmanuel Arceneaux?
Fun fact: Arceneaux had a great year last year in the CFL.
While we're on this topic:
Shortly after the regular season ended, the Indianapolis Colts signed six of their practice squad players to reserve/future contracts. Interestingly, however, wide receiver Duron Carter was not one of them, and he has now become a free agent.

I think so. I mean, why not? We happen to have an opening for a big/fast receiver and Minnesota was on his short list before signing with Indy/Luck.
Exactly, why not? He's a talented guy and the Vikings need more "punch" in their passing game.
Bringing in more competition might light a fire under the incumbent WRs too.
