HUGE.
Think about this: a win next week puts the Vikes at 8-2 and drops GB to 6-3.
The 4-5 Bears host Denver. That's a difficult but arguably winnable game @ Chicago.
The following week, Chicago goes to Green Bay. Next week, a Bears win and a Packers loss would actually set up the possibility that the Bears could move into a tie for second place by beating GB.
I'm not saying it will all work out that way but that's not a scenario that even looked possible a few weeks ago. I'd love to see GB losing streak continue, especially within the division.
GB would be 6-4, Jim.
That is interesting. The only thing that rivals a Minnesota win is a Green Bay loss!

No need for a tie breaker argument this week. 7-2 and in first place. A win next week would be huge.
Yes a Vikings next week would put GB behind the 8 ball... Green Bay would have to win out the rest of the season...
Most likely to have any chance.. After four straight loses (including a loss against us) would be a huge problem. A month
ago I would have never guessed this...

Yeah, but he's obviously lying, right? If the Vikes
are in first place after Week 17, he'll clearly go to the press-conference podium and grumble something about not caring because all that matters is the upcoming playoff game.

A couple of numbers.
79% of the experts had the Vikings losing to the Raiders today.
The Vikings now have an 81% chance to make the playoffs. 47% chance to win the Division.

Loved this chart:
Code: Select all
Peterson Rush Points
Yards Allowed
vs. KC 60 10
at DET 98 19
at CHI 103 20
vs. STL 125 18
at OAK 203 14
To the math guy in me, I see this:
Unlikely, yes-- but those *are* the trends

And we're back in first place again thanks to the Bears. Now lets see if we can hold on to it.
