If you could build a team

Post by CbusVikesFan »

with any player from any era, who would you start with? Which side of the ball would you start with? Offense or defense? There are no rules here, if you want to list your starting 22, by all means. One player from each side of the ball. They don't have to be all Vikings or any if you don't feel like any of them warrant that kind of accolade.
I hope this will be a fun topic.

I would start off by picking Johnny Randle. I know there are many out there to disagree but a team needs a character like him to keep things loose. Team him up with Lawrence Taylor, Joe Green, and Deacon Jones.
On offense I would have to go with Randy Moss. There will never be another like him. 1b would be Tom Brady, 1C would be CC.
On a team with whomever I choose, Jerry Rice would only be my 3rd or 4th choice. Randy and CC are top dogs on my team with good rotation of Swann, Rice and Largent.
RB's would be Barry and Dorsett. With Jim Brown and Czonk as the heavy package.(dag, I just thought of Earl Campbell. Sorry Czonk, by " that much. lol)

Have fun rattling your brain to think of your all time favorites and how would they look stacked up with players as good or better at their position. No need to argue semantics, this is for fun and mostly a popularity contest.

Probably Joe Montana or John Elway at #1.

On defense I would take Reggie White.

Would anybody be interested in starting an all time draft? That could be really interesting and give us something to do during the offseason.

I figure if we could get 10 people going, it would be pretty fun. And the end we could have a community vote on whose team is the best.

Would we have a list of somekind? Or would we have to do it from memory?

It makes sense to be able to pull any player from history that hasn't been picked yet. So if somebody forgets about Demetrius Underwood but you remember to pick him, they'll just have to get over it.

Or something like that.

I might have to try that. Any particular brand work better than others? I assume that you did extensive research? :D
