Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.

" He was an AP First Team All-Pro selection for the first of five times in 1964 and also began a streak of six straight Pro Bowl appearances (1964–1969) that season. In 1967, he was named First Team All-Pro by Newspaper Enterprise Association and UPI and Second Team All-Pro by the AP. In 1969, he was named the NFL's Top Offensive Lineman of the Year by the 1,000-Yard Club in Columbus, Ohio.[2] In 1970, he was named First Team All-Pro by both the PFWA and Pro Football Weekly. He was also named Second Team All-Pro by Newspaper Enterprise Association. He was named First Team All-NFC for that season by the AP".

It is unreal that a players with all of his awards and accolades has not yet been enshrined. To think that he was not even drafted out of college is amazing along with the fact that his usual playing weight was app. 235 lbs.. What a truly grat Viking he was
If he was the best center in football for five years, I'd say that qualifies. And candidly, it probably gives him better creds than Jim Marshall, who played a position of greater prominence but not necessarily more importance.

Congrats to Mick! He should have been in the HoF long ago.

Honestly, how do some of these selections get made and how do some obviously great players get overlooked?

I saw that - very cool! Also, this means we get five games in the preseason - that's cool I guess.

No it's five. Anytime a team plays in the hall of fame game, they get an extra preaeason game. I mean it can't hurt. More in game experience for these young guys

Anyone for a trip to Canton?

No doubt - and they get to start training camp earlier than other teams, so that means less waiting for us fans haha
