You mis-read that part. The article said he was down 70 lbs. not down to 70 lbs. That's still a dramatic reduction in weight. The Breeze wrote:Wow, he went from 225 down to 70lbs.
He really had a great instinct for the ball. It was fun watching him make big plays in the Vikes defensive backfield! He was a great Viking,, one of my favs.

RIP to one of my favorites from the Denny Green era. That really is too bad.
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

He was a great player, and a good guy all around. Sad news, indeed.

Re: Orlando Thomas Passes away :(
didn't he have 9 interceptions that one year? It was a high number as I recall. Thomas and Robert Griffith were a lot of fun to watch back in the day!

Yeah, he had 9 in his rookie year, 1995. I remember it really well because it was the first season that I watched every game and really got into the Vikings.fiestavike wrote:didn't he have 9 interceptions that one year? Re: Orlando Thomas Passes away :(
I was 10 years old when he broke into the league and I remember always checking the interceptions leaders his rookie season hoping he'd lead the league.
I thought his name was so cool. Orlando!
