http://espn.go.com/blog/minnesota-vikin ... mmTp%22%7DFirst-rounder Anthony Barr looks like a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate; he leads all rookies with three sacks and three fumble recoveries, and probably made the play of the Vikings' season with his fumble return for a touchdown on Sunday. Teddy Bridgewater will start the rest of the season at quarterback, and Jerick McKinnon, who leads all rookie rushers with 392 yards, figures to do the same at running back. A trio of late-round picks -- safety Antone Exum, defensive tackle Shamar Stephen and cornerback Jabari Price -- are playing key roles either on special teams or in the defense, and nine of the Vikings' 10 draft picks are still on their 53-man roster.
It's enough that USA Today ranked the Vikings' rookie class the league's fifth best at the midway point of the season, and though we're a long ways from a final grade on the Vikings' class of 2014, the young players are at least getting chances to contribute in a chaotic season.

Vikings rookies handling big load
Unfortunate headline.

Re: Vikings rookies handling big load
it was great to see Barr come up so big in last weeks game.
I know some fans doubted the pick, but IMO he might be the
best linebacker out this year. With Mack and Clowney both going
before him it will be interesting so how all there careers go.

no one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

It may be an unfortunate headline, but at least the rookies are contributing.
What would happen if the Vikings didn't have them? Certainly the QB and RB positions would be worse off, if nothing else.

Trial by fire. In two years they will still all be young, but would have already a great deal of experience on top of what we'd hope would be an increase in performance. That's a plus when building a contender. Perennial contender, at that.

Aernt sacks a no no in Zimmer's defense? That's why Robison is so damn good. J/K Barr has been better then advertised.dead_poet wrote:Unfortunate headline.
