January 9th, 1988... Candlestick Park... I was at a stupid wedding reception and kept sneaking away to watch the game.
The Vikes had sneaked into the playoffs with an 8-7 record (strike shortened the season to 15 games). Vikes pulled off an epic playoff victory over the 13-2 Niners. Wade Wilson was on fire... Anthony Carter played lights-out football with 10 receptions for a then NFL playoff record 227 yards, along with 1 carry for 30 yards. Jerry Rice could do nothing (3 for 28 yds). Joe Montana got pulled in the 3rd quarter for Steve Young, and there was no coming back... Vikes won 36-24 against the heavily favored 49ers. Bye-bye Forty-Whiners... Sweeeeeet win.

hahaha... I remember that one... Terry LeCount was all legs... looked like Bambi, but he was the man that day.808vikingsfan wrote:1981 at Chargers. Vikings come from behind and win with an onside kick and FG. In that Game, Terry LeCount was unstoppable. Thought he was going to be a household name after that game.

The Thanksgiving game back in '98 when Moss went buck wild on the Cowboys. That was so fun. It pretty much solidified to the eyes of the world that the Vikings were an absolute force.
