2014 D-Line

Post by AP_AD28 »

Ive been very happy with the way we've stacked our D-Line this offseason, and it got me thinking about how they may split the snapcount between everyone. If you take a look at last year, this is the way the snaps were split:

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/snapcounts

J Allen: 90.7%
L Guion: 33.2%
F Evans: 30%
C Baker: 4.9%
K Williams: 61.5%
S Floyd: 39.3%
B Robison: 83.2%
E Griffen: 59.7%

With all of the new signings and releases, and I realize we still have the rest of FA and the draft, but how do you think the snaps will be split between the DL?

I have no idea but it might be instructive to see how snaps were split along the Cincy defensive line the last few years.

Anyone on scout.com?

http://min.scout.com/a.z?s=63&p=2&c=138 ... 86440.html

Can't get anything from the article though.

Here's from 2011:

Here's a list for all defensive players in 2013:
http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats ... tats/2013/
Dunlap 87.2%
Johnson 84.5%
Peko 59.8%
Gilberry 47.4%
Atkins 42.4%
Thompson 36%
Hunt 15.3%
Still 12.1%
Geathers 2.1%

It could be skewed because of the Atkins injury, but it looks like it's a lot more rotational and balanced. Fresh legs is a big key to success I would say.

I was surprised to see Floyd had taken more snaps than Evans and Guion...rookie or not, he didn't make much of an impact besides a few splash plays. Do we trust him taking around 60% of snaps next year?
