Re: 'Tiny' lineman gets shot at making Vikings

Wonder what the plan is if Kalil were to go down. I suppose we would flip Loadholt to LT and plug someone in at RT (Richardson or whoever makes the roster as the swing tackle). Loadholt at LT is a scary thought. I'm not sure I've ever seen Loadholt take a single snap at left tackle. I don't think t...

Re: Vikings uniforms.. What could have been.

That isn't a flattering shot, but it's much better than white on purple. It's amateur hour. Would Green Bay or New England ever do that? One reason why I can't take college ball seriously. Awful uniforms with Nike and FFS...pull up your socks. I'm as old school as anyone, but I really like the whit...

Re: For those who know Matt Cassel off the field, the last t

It's absolutely not the same. But I stand by my original statement that the behavior is born out of exactly the same thing ... pent up fan frustration. And not always with the player. In the Vikings case, fans last year were fed up with the totally overmatched coaching staff and the entire Vikings o...

Re: Vikings uniforms.. What could have been.

The old unis are more similar to the new ones than those hideous things they wore for a few years. Makes me wonder if they'll even bother doing throwbacks. I can't see much reason for it.

Re: For those who know Matt Cassel off the field, the last t

Booing someone because he stinks is totally different than cheering because a player is taken out of a game after laying hurt on the field. In theory. In reality, they're just different degrees of the same thing. Everyone condemned the KC fans, as though they were somehow different than fans in any...

Re: For those who know Matt Cassel off the field, the last t

Meanwhile, there's an ongoing discussion of Ponder being booed. If Ponder had gone down with a concussion, is there much doubt that Vikings fans would have cheered? I have none. It's sad, but situation had become that toxic. If Cassel stinks it up in front of a stadium full of Vikings fans clamoring...

Re: Tingelhoff closer to realizing Hall of Fame dream

Like Marshall, Tinglehoff's greatest claim to fame was his long, injury-free career, playing at a high standard. That in itself is remarkable, but it's not what gets you voted into the Hall of Fame. There are just 40 offensive linemen from the modern era in the HoF. Of those, only about 9 centers. I...

What?? Someone explain.

Re: Tingelhoff closer to realizing Hall of Fame dream

Tinglehoff was manhandled pretty thoroughly in the four Super Bowls in which he appeared. It's not all that surprising that he's never been voted into the HoF.

Re: 2014 Vikings Practice Notes/Interviews

What if he becomes a 12-15 sack linebacker? A 4-3 linebacker can be something other than the Tampa 2 definition we have come to know. Put it this way: What would you think of a full-time safety who got 15 sacks a year, but only managed 20 tackles and never defended a pass? I'd say he's very good at...

Re: 2014 Vikings Practice Notes/Interviews

Saying Barr doesn't look good yet is a fair assessment, but we all knew that he was a project from day one. I don't understand why we're so worried about it so suddenly. 1 month is not long enough for him to no longer be a project, and he HAS flashed athleticism and pass rush ability. Short term, t...

Anyone who thinks the Vikings have even the tiniest of QB controversies at the moment is out of their mind. There is no controversy.

Re: Should Patterson be the primary kickoff returner?

I think the main idea is to keep him fresh. You don't want your best receiver catching his breath when Sherels or somebody else can take the average kick. Cordarelle can take the kickoffs when he needs to, but I think for the most part, I'd rather have him on offense. Although, I do see why many pe...

Re: 2014 Vikings Practice Notes/Interviews

Way too much hand-wringing over the 3rd string QB spot. Even for everyone's favorite flop.

Re: Should Patterson be the primary kickoff returner?

Why? a. because then he's arguably more valuable as a receiver b. because the offense takes the field following a return It's pretty common to pull a young receiver from return duties once he becomes a more valuable receiver. Both because of the risk of injury and also so they can concentrate on wh...
