Re: Wright Signed
A sideways signing! Jarius Wright is a good reciever who caught the damn ball just fine. A solid player. Why does Spielman make all these swing for the fences/splashy signings? The odds of winning it all are very small and with less continuity and more bodies to bring up to Viking speed..........we...

Re: Wright Signed
Diggs hasn't been the epitome of health so Wright provides depth and a potential #3 option. He's not very tall but he has the physicality and measurables (really good vertical) to go up and grab contested footballs. The Vikings still need a guy who can stretch the field now. I assume his contract i...

Re: move up
I just read the Wikipedia article for Hodges. Here is what it says. On December 2016, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. had Hodges along with Alabama's O. J. Howard as his top tight ends on the draft board. He gave both a first-round grade, ranking Hodges as the No. 32 prospect overall. Hodges was d...

Re: move up
I think it is more a matter of how many picks we have in the first five rounds (I think we have only four at this point). We have treated the later picks as lottery tickets, spending them on high risk guys like Bohringer and Bucky Hodges.Raptorman wrote:Does he have 10 picks yet? He likes to start with 10.

Re: Wright Signed
I really won't have an opinion until I see what the contract looks like. I haven't found anything yet.

Re: Subtraction (of salary cap) by addition
And we need this extra salary cap for what reason at this moment? By two sources, the Vikings currently have between $28 and $29 million in cap space, after signing Richardson. Murray took a pay cut and saved them $1.15 in cap space. Those numbers did not include Richardson. With his addition, over...

Re: Biggest Need On The Team?
It worked with a third round pick last season, so I am very hopeful we can make it two years in a row.808vikingsfan wrote:Biggest need? Upgrading the OL. Not sure if it can be done by just adding a couple of rookies.

Re: Wright Released
I get it but both Thielen and Diggs have missed some time due to injuries, and he just hasn't produced. I'm not saying I am calling him a bust yet, but he's rapidly running out ot chances, imo. Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk I remember reading throughout the year that Treadwell has been consis...

Re: 2018 Vikings Free Agency Thread
Great to hear. He's the only punt returner we've had in a long time that doesn't make me nervous.

Re: 2018 Free Agency
New guy only got 1 year. Shouldn't effect Donald at all other than he won't get a deal this year. Have to wait a year. Donald is on the fifth year option and scheduled to make under $7M. After paying Suh, they almost have to extend him immediately. The other option is to tag him after the season, b...

Re: Interior Offensive Linemen
I joined the crowd and picked Price. His athleticism is a better fit for our blocking schemes than Hernandez and I like the position flexibility. If Wynn, Hernandez and Price were to surprisingly all still be there at 30, then I would prefer we trade back a few picks and add some more draft capital...

Re: Wright Released
If we have a chance to grab Christian Kirk in the second round, I'm all for it. Instant upgrade at #3 receiver and possible insurance against losing Diggs to FA in 2019. He would likely also be our new punt returner. I listened to him on TV today and he seems like a really great guy.
